On 22nd August 2025, the stakeholders and staff of the Gohar Zaman Foundation (GZF) convened a meeting under the chairmanship of Dr. Muhammad Shafi Afridi, Chairman, GZF. The session began with updates on the activities carried out during the ongoing month, followed by brainstorming for new initiatives. Key proposals included the establishment of a Consultancy Wing to train teachers, leaders and social sectors of the society; the creation of a Coaching Academy; and the introduction of career development trainings aimed at empowering both career seekers from Universities and Colleges including but not limited to teachers, students and people from all walks of life in the community for sustainable development.
The meeting also addressed broader policy and social concerns, particularly the urgent need to strengthen GZF’s role in climate change policy and disaster management. Members reflected on the devastating impact of the recent Flood 2025, discussing how GZF could play a more proactive role in community awareness, resilience building, and long-term disaster preparedness. Ideas were shared on integrating environmental education into consultancy and training programs, alongside building partnerships with government and non-governmental organizations for climate adaptation and relief efforts.
The participants expressed unanimous support for these new initiatives, giving a green signal to develop practical implementation plans. It was agreed that all activities must be designed to benefit people in community, teachers and students, while also reflecting GZF’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. The Chairman emphasized focusing on “Why We Are Different”, urging the Foundation not to follow traditional methods but instead to adopt creative, impactful, and future-oriented approaches that address both educational excellence and climate resilience.
